The rugged beauty of the Badlands draws visitors from around the world. These striking geologic deposits contain one of the world’s richest fossil beds. Ancient mammals such as the rhino, horse, and saber-toothed cat once roamed here. The park’s 244,000 acres protect an expanse of mixed-grass prairie where bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, and black-footed ferrets live today.
Wow, these photos are phenomenal. I am planning a trip to Badlands next month. How long is the loop road? I'm guessing those look out points are off the loop road? Or which lookouts would you recommend? Anyway, lovely photos and looks like you had an amazing time. Hannah
Thanks !! Badlands Loop Road is 60 minutes drive if you do not stop at any overlooks but of course you will stop at at least a few lookouts. I stopped at atleast 6 points and it took me 3 hours approx. on Badlands National Park
